Come say hi on instagram! @sandrachristinaphotography
I didn’t book a newborn shoot being a family pho I didn’t book a newborn shoot being a family photographer myself.

Before giving birth, I thought I’d be constantly snapping photos of my baby and our new family life, but in reality, I barely picked up the camera. The idea of a “perfect” newborn shoot in the first two weeks felt impossible, and even everyday photos seemed overwhelming. Adjusting to life with a newborn and running on little sleep, capturing it all just wasn’t a priority.

I’m so grateful, though, that I managed to take a few photos here and there, and that my boyfriend and sister stepped in with the camera when I couldn’t. I hated it at the time—feeling messy and tired, with chaos everywhere, not having washed my hair for days - but looking back, I cherish those moments. The candid, real-life shots mean so much more to me now than perfectly staged ones ever could.

You don’t have to plan a perfect newborn shoot. If it feels like it’s too much, maybe choose to have someone capture those raw, imperfect moments for you. Less posed, more in a documentary-style. I’m rethinking what newborn shoots mean to me, and how I will offer them in the future. So that other overwhelmed parents like me can have those memories captured without any pressure.

I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Welcome to the world Emma - 9th of August 2024💖 Welcome to the world Emma - 9th of August 2024💖

A month ago our daughter Emma was born. Three weeks too early, teeny tiny, but so ready to take on the world in full swing!
A challenging and emotional time at the NICU followed. Also a time that I look back on in a very positive way. The nurses and doctors there that are literal angels and didn’t just care for Emma but also taught us everything we needed to know to be able to care for her ourselves. Our family room that became our little cocoon for those first few weeks of her life. Skin to skin cuddles all day everyday. The fact that she day by day exceeded everyone’s expectations and we were able to go home a lot sooner than expected.

It was not what we had hoped for. But this is your story, Emma, and we could not be more proud of all you already have accomplished 💕✨

Our pregnancy photos ~ As you can imagine, one of Our pregnancy photos ~ As you can imagine, one of the first things I did once I knew I was pregnant was plan a shoot!
Unfortunately we had to end up cancelling it with a heavy heart (mostly on my side, not so much my boyfriend’s haha) due to difficult circumstances with the pregnancy.

Luckily we managed to somehow finish up her room amidst hospital visits and I decided to ask a friend to take some photos of us and edit them myself.

I’m so happy we had a chance to take these and I can’t wait to show them to her later 🥰 I also love that they were really spontaneous and show us in our natural environment, exactly what I always aim for with maternity sessions.

If you’re in doubt whether you should have a photoshoot during your pregnancy due to circumstances that are not going the way you want - definitely do it! It’s such a special memory you can always look back to ✨
Out of office 🙋‍♀️ My maternity leave has Out of office 🙋‍♀️ My maternity leave has started and I will be off until at least November, possibly longer.
Always feel free to get in touch for future shoots after my leave, but don’t expect a reply as fast as usually. I’ll read my dms more regularly than emails!

Can’t wait for this next chapter and to meet baby girl soon ✨
Surprise! 🍼💕 I’ve been quite absent this y Surprise! 🍼💕 I’ve been quite absent this year and there is a reason for that! We’ve been blessed with a baby girl that will join us this summer 🥰 While I love being pregnant, it has not been all sunshine and rainbows for us, unfortunately. The past couple of months have been very testing with constant hospital visits. Luckily our girl is the strongest little fighter I know and we can’t wait to meet her very soon ✨

I haven’t been working a lot and will continue to take it easy until my maternity leave in July - unfortunately I had to cancel some really nice projects and small weddings. I’m not sure yet when I’ll pick up shoots again, but most likely not until the end of the year. For now I’m looking forward to taking a million photos of our little one 🙃
