Anyone who knows me knows that I'm ALWAYS up for a photoshoot in the dunes! I love how free you feel there - especially for people who feel a little less comfortable in front of the camera, this is perfect. I always choose a spot with little to no people around. This way you can fully focus on each other and forget the world around you for a little while.
Jill and Jimmy had recently gotten engaged and wanted to capture that special moment in their lives in a fun, natural way. Also they wanted to include their dog in the photos (which I love!). The dunes are a special place for them as well, and it therefore seemed like the perfect place to go!
It was fall, so the weather is always a bit of a gamble, but we managed to catch a super sunny day. We even were treated with a magical golden hour - what could be better?
I always love the different lighting situation that last hour before sunset offers you. When the sun is still a bit higher in the sky you can go for a little more lighter photos. For this I like to stay around a place where the dunes are nice and green, on this day even with some beautiful yellow flowers. Once the sun sets more we moved on to the beach to capture that gorgeous sunset.
After sunset (also called 'blue hour' with slightly more muted colours which I love!) we moved closer to the dunes again and snapped a few photos with the stunning backdrop of the dunes in Scheveningen in the background. One hour, three slightly different locations, three different lighting situations - a big variety of photos for the two of them.
